Coffee + Knitting= Bliss

I want to share a corn bread recipe with you all, it’s do easy! To 1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix add 1 box of Green Giant Niblets corn & butter sauce, 1 egg and 1/3 cup milk. Then grease a
9 by 9 inch baking dish with Crisco. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and bake at 400 degrees for 20-30 min. Then remove from oven, let cool…
Then enjoy! It’s so good!!

My sister-in-law has a few chickens and is kind enough to give us 18 eggs weekly. These eggs are HUGE! They are delicious too…
I don’t know what breed the girls are but they are pampered and loved and treated as pets. We have an Amish community here and the chickens came from an Amish farm.

Now I must share my most recent knitting project. It’s called the “Autumn Scarf”. The pattern is Annie Lee’s. You can see more of her knitting on her web site http://www.jumpercablesknitting.com

I’m a self taught knitter. I had always wanted to learn how to knit. I dabbled with crochet when I was in middle school. My mom was an avid crocheter and up until just a few months ago she was still enjoying the craft, carpal tunnel struck like a thief in the night. Now Mother is Leary about picking up her crochet hook… The pain was so awful for her. So… I’ve tried coaxing and I bought her a wooden handle crochet hook and some support gloves but she’ll not have any of it.
Anyway, back to my story…I got a How To Book on knitting. Very basic, geared towards the beginner, lots of clear concise photos and that’s all I needed. Thanks also to the Internet, you-tube and the ladies at my LYS, Crazy For Ewe, I was “hooked”. Pun intended!!

The lace detail looked a bit daunting to me at first, but after a few trial and errors I was ready to get my good yarn out and make this scarf/shawl. This project was knit with Patons Lace yarn in color way sachet. It’s hues of purple, white and lime green. It’s got the look of mohair.
It’s for my Auntie, I know she’ll love it!

I’m back on the coffee thing… I bought a bag of Caffe Verona, it’s a bold brew and I love, love, love it!!

I bought this at the Amazon web site, it’s under 50$ and I give it 5 stars out of 5 stars! I was not familiar with or how to make a latte… I Just like to drink them. So for me the learning curve was a bit curvier , =)

I do love my coffee… Now I can get my fix at home! I still love my baristas at the Starbucks in Safeway!!
Now, I am using the WordPress app on my iPhone, I have the app on my iPad and it’s awesome. I hope this is just as impressive,
Ciao my friends

I do love my coffee, I cannot start my day without it. In the mornings I enjoy watching the sun rise and I savor that wonderful steaming potion.

Starbucks is just a 5 minute walk from my office…my drink of choice is a cinnamon dolce latte. It’s divine! Now I’ve been trying to figure out the nuances of making this exact hot beverage from home . I have an espresso machine, I’m relatively new at frothing milk and brewing freshly ground espresso beans but I know I’m on the right track. The wonderful baristas at “my” Starbucks have been very helpful…but the missing link was the flavored syrup! I’m still going to frequent my friends at Starbucks…now I can enjoy my favorite coffee beverage at home.

I keep another blog that is dedicated to my knitting. But I wanted to share some of my projects with you all. This shawl was knit with Malabridgo yarn, the pattern was written by a very talented knitter,
Annie Lee. You can see her projects and purchase patterns at Jumper Cables Knitting

I don’t want to sound like a freak or anything…but, when I go into a yarn store or a yarn boutique my heart begins to race and I feel giddy! Like a child getting ready to open a birthday gift…
As I see all these groups of yarns arranged in color groupings…some are light and lofty, others are chunky and brightly dyed. Then, in the yarn boutiques they have different projects knitted and on display…sweaters, hats, lap blankets and more. It’s such a wonderful sensory experience!

Well needless to say I’ve stopped the nutri-system diet.
I don’t even know what to say or think about the loss of my Dad.
I have not picked up my camera in months.
Where did “Lisa” go? That’s me… In case you were wondering, I feel like I’ve vanished.

I’m going to go browse some of my favorite knitting web sites, I’ll be back…
It’s 2:15 pm right now.

Ok…I’m back., it’s now 9:36 pm, I was gone foe quite dome time. My apologies.
I am easily distracted and the weather gentlemen are predicting a snow event for the area I live, I thought I’d best to get some wood brought up for the wood stove and I had to make sure all of my bird feeders were filled. I have “tons” of finches that pay my feeders regular visits and
The little beauties do love the black oil sunflowers seeds.
I’m am still trying to find out how to load photos to my blog using the “WordPress” app.
I can see now that I am going to have to spend a bit more time reading…thorough reading
Not grazing over the words looking for familiar key words.
